I am now halfway through my 2 week Turkısh holiday. Started off in Istanbul, and so far covered Edirne, Iznik, Bursa, 3 days in Cappadocia and typiıng this out ın Kayseri. I will be on the overnight bus tonight and will wake up ın Hatay
, aka ANtioch for those of you reading plenty of history books or the bible.

So far, I fınd that in the rural areas, the kids and to less extent, the others, are curious to see non locals visiting them and will almost always want to have a photo taken. Even if I don't normally do travel portraits. Before you write them off as backwards, after the shot, they would run to me for a digital preview. Little did they know I use a Leica M6.

Only little hiccup is that my first 6 rolls of film was shot with the M6 meter out of whack by -1EV. I blame it on the batteries running low. Thought it was strange when my brain meter seems never to agree wıth the camera, but decided to trust the camera. Hope is still there, I only shoot b&w with the RF camera, so will develop accordingly.

5 more days to go, averaging a little more than 1 roll per day. This afternoon, took 2 more portraits, one of the caretaker of Hunat Camii, who speaks un petit peu French, and a group photo of a bunch of daredevils driving Kayseri's mini buses.

As with all dying breed of film users out there, it is sometimes the antipation that keeps this medium interesting!

One stop will not much impact the resulting images, so maybe you will love the results anyways. Enjoy your trip in Turkey.

I'm so jealous! - I'm usually there by now, but ill health is delaying me this year, it's my favourite shooting ground too!
