Tyler Hicks is one of my fave photographers. One week he'll be in the middle east. The next he's covering a small library here in NYC. I'd kill for his job.

I saw these first in the Sunday NYT...they have great photo editors and did an amazingly good job of duotone reproduction on newsprint paper.
The images by themselves don't do as much for me as they do with his audio narration in the NYT slide show format. That's especially the case with the mother-and-child shot. I think the pano took impact away from that image, though maybe 24X36 would have taken in too much background, reducing the impression of their isolation, which had moved Hicks.
