I've already done quite a bit for a new edition in PDF format but to my surprise the publishers of the original book expressed an interest in a new print edition, so I'm currently waiting for their response. That's GMC/Guild of Master Craftsmen in Lewes.

Just thought people might like to know the reasons for the delay, i.e. that it's not just down to me being my usual laggardly self.

Cheers,

R.

Excellent news, Roger!
Had not really thought there was any "delay", in fact. I figure things take time and since you were not talking about just re-releasing the book as an ebook but updating it and then releasing it, that meant some actual writing and photography was involved.

Looking forward to this! And really hoping for another print edition--can I call your publisher? Sort of a "random" reader encouraging them? :)

Another satisfied owner of the first edition. I also mostly get ebooks nowadays, but for art or coffee table books, paper is still preferable.

I'm proud to say that I have a dedicated / signed copy of the 1st edition - looking forward to the electronic version too.

Will it be purely PDF, Roger, or is there any chance of an Epub or Mobi?

Reply from GMC: Thanks for your email and apologies for the delay in responding. I have discussed this with our Marketing dept and we feel that this would be too niche to justify the expense required to produce a second edition. I am sure it would be a popular title but the potential market probably isn't large enough.

So it's back to the e-book.

Cheers,

R.

Have the first edition. and find it a great book. Would like a more pratical approach to RF photography in generel in version II though. Maybe also something on the more usable classics. Maybe what Im saying is I'd like a completely different book on RF's, gear and photography.
Best regards

How educated!

With Europe in an almost biblical crisis (5 years going and still 2 more to come, as we're told), but luxury goods still selling like hotcakes, perhaps you should consider changing the title to "My first Leica book"...:D

Sorry, couldn't resist. Good luck and more with selling it (maybe somewhere else?).
