Hi All,
Just bought a good working MC Leica Meter for $38. I wanted the MC Leica Meter since it was the original meter for M2, and I wanted the experience of working with it. It's here now, with original box and instruction book. It fits nicely onto my new M2, and seems to read very accurately so far, as least comparing readings against my (also new to me) incident Minolta Autometer. So it's a good go so far. And I'm OK with the size of it on M2, it seems to be a good workable meter/camera combo. I like it.
The needle does seem to get a little sticky at times, especially when it's tipped slightly back, or pointed up a certain way, as if gravity is affecting the needle. Is there a way to take apart and clean this myself, or is this a DAG or Sherrie Krauter CLA?
Also, how well does the accessory low-light cell attachment function with this meter? The instructions say it make the meter six times more sensitive. That would be cool😎 . Anybody using this meter attachment, does it work for you 😕
I just started playing with this meter today, but I think I'm going to like using it. But I would like to know about restoring it (it's fifty years old) if necessary and souping it up with the cell attachment.
Thanks! -Dan
