After waiting literally ages having missed it at the cinema I FINALLY got around to grabbing the DVD and watching it tonight. Man I really enjoyed it. I was warned "it's weird" when I got my copy to which I replied "hey, its based on a comic 😉 "

What a great soundtrack over the credits too!



I think the blatant references to dictatorships (or one in particular with their use of black, red, and a basic symbol on a flag) and events last century are really obvious, but hey it just goes to show we're doomed to repeat ourselves.


I don't want to start a political discussion, but I thought it was a great film for what it is - a comic book adaptation (they are always rubbish, apart from Sin City 😀 ) - and really does raise some questions on the choices we will all be making with the growing global tension.



And there was me thinking I'd never touch a Wachowski film after that bloody awful Matrix business!

I watched that recently too Ash and was very impressed! The original Matrix was a good movie but the sequels bombed ... I didn't even bother to see them. Hugo Weaving was excellent as V ... as he was as agent Smith in 'The Matrix' ... and he's an Aussie!

He did an unusual film years ago about a blind photographer called 'Proof.' See if you can dig up a copy ... he was brilliant! Check the IMDB link.

yeah im sad to say i missed it in the theater too, my wife really wanted to go see it and i told her i didnt really want to see it. So i finally rented it after hearing all these good things about it and man i was impressed a really good flick...

I was expecting 'the only good comic book film' but that doesn't really translate as 'a great film' - look at spiderman, daredevil and its dodgy CG scenes, ok X-Men films are ok for a laugh, but yea - I watched 10 minutes of the Matrix sequels and rolled over and fell asleep.

I'll dig up that film if I can - looks good.


Anyone seen the Thai (i think) film called 'Shutter' ? It's a ghost story based around a photographer

Kids..... if you want to know and feel what real cinematography is I am sure alot of rff users can assist you, you will be screaming and clapping 😀 😀 😀 Last thing I saw was "Babel" I have to say, I wanted to clap in the middle of the scences! mexico wedding scene! amazing! music! editing! photography!
