Velvia 100F?

So...FujiFilm announced new packaging for their films:

I noticed there's no new packaging for Velvia 100F...is the end near? Did it already end and I missed the notice? Do they just like the old box too much to refresh it? (seems unlikely...)

Veliva 100F has been stopped for some time already as I know(?) since the newer Velvia 100 (the non-F) does "the same, just better in the domain of Velvia" according to Fuji (and IMHO too).

BUT, I don't see Provia 400X!?

It looks like it's 35mm only as well. Wonder how the 120/220 rolls will look?
 
Pro 160NS is also absent from this announcement. I have a hard time believing they'd only offer a single color negative option, so in regards to Provia 400X, I'd hope it just means the package is not getting a redesign. Perhaps wishful thinking. It would be a shame if it disappeared, though, since it's about the only slide film I still shoot. It's fantastic in medium format.

Indeed...I just was looking at a roll of 120 400X last evening and thinking I should use it more often...
 
Beautiful shots Margus!!!

Provia 400x is perhaps my favorite slide film. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. Does anyone have experience pushing Provia 100f? It's cheaper to do than buying 400x, but I'm curious how close the results would be.
 
Margus, they are great. I've yet to try 400X in 120 but now I have to.

Just had a look at one of my 135 400X boxes in the fridge - it isn't too far removed from the new packaging displayed on the link above so I am thinking (and hoping) it is still safe for now and they have just brought the rest of their packaging into line with 400X, which I think is their newest slide film anyway? It is my favourite all round film despite the high cost and relative difficulty to obtain.
 
Watching photos like Margus' ones I'm just willing to leave the library I'm in right now and grab my Mamiya 6...!
I shot my first E6 film last month. After reading some recent news and rumors I just hope I'm not arriving too late to the party... :bang:

I would think that pushing Provia 100F to ISO 400 would be doable, if you can find a competent lab to process it correctly - or if you develop it yourself.

I accidentally shot a roll of Velvia 50 at ISO 400 once. I told my lab about it and they agreed to push process that one roll at ISO 400. I didn't hold out much hope for that roll but was pleasantly surprised when I got it back.

It's all in the processing.
 
I am quite the fan of provia 100f, finer grain and cheaper then 400, so it's a win win in my book. It helps I tend to shoot slide only in bright situations though.

Personally not a huge fan of all the designs, but hey it's packaging so who really cares anyway!
 
I dont shoot slide but a friend gave me a roll of Agfa Precisa he told me it was a fuji film and its cheap

I like the colours very much, I'm more likely to think its Provia 100. Whatever it is it's nice. I might have to try a roll or two this summer/autumn

He seems to think it is sensia packaged in Japan, i was very pleased with the results from my first roll of slide, they were taken with an M4-2 and 40mmF1.4 Nokton
 
Well the reason I doubt it is Sensia was deleted from Fuji's portfolio in August 2010, production ceased before that. It could be an old roll they pulled out of the freezer and sold to LUPUS cheaply.
There are further reasons to suspect it isn't Sensia as that emulsion had the natural colour dye set closer in saturation to Astia than Provia.

The images you posted are more like Provia—you never know though, I'm going to try some this summer, it would be wonderful news if Fuji has started remanufacturing Sensia :)

People who are intimate with the Agfa Precisa currently available say it is not Sensia but rather 99.9% identical to Provia 100F. So I think Photo_Smith is right here. This topic has been discussed in this forum at some length, and I assume that the relevant threads can be easily found.
 
I thought my friend said it was Sensia but he has just text me saying it could be a film called fuji Trebia that was like an amateur version of Provia 100 that was only sold in Japan

Nope, that would be way too old, Trebi must have been replaced by Sensia more than a decade ago. Trebi was around when I was last in Japan, and that was ages ago, it was the Fuji consumer (i.e. exposure error tolerant) slide film alongside Provia 100 (RDP II).

Right i'll give him a bollocking for telling me this, i don't really care what it is i like the results from my first roll ever
