It seems a few months ago there was a b&w photo essay from a well-known photographer shot in Venezuela during the most recent Chavez troubles with an Olympus Stylus Epic (or Mju-II). I can't for the life of me find that info...I keep searching what I think are relevant terms in Google and come up with nothing.
Anyone else familiar with this work, and can point out a link?

Thanks. You are exactly right, and that is what I was referring to...and it WAS a T3, not a Stylus Epic.
It's Chris Anderson's "Capitolio."
Again, thanks. I'm thinking of a project just using a P&S film camera and b&w film, and looking for inspiration.

I have been using two point and shoots lately and find it quite liberating. It's like you vanish. Nobody really pays much attention and photographers don't want to chat. You do get the odd WTF look from the photo crowd when out and about.

HA! I always have a point and shoot in my jacket pocket if it's not my bessa r2a. Lately it's been my Nikon 35Ti.
I always see tourists lumbering about with their big honkin' DSLRs and I always want to be snarky and say: "Oh, I have a Nikon too!" and pull the 35Ti out.

It IS the ultimate in freedom. My iPhone quite honestly takes fine snapshots in good light...but I keep my Stylus Epic (Mju-II) loaded with Tri-X and I throw it in a cargo shorts pocket. I love the look and shallow DoF of the pictures I make with it. Can't duplicate it with a compact digital yet.
And nobody looks twice at me
