After receiving my 1961 Pentax H2 back from a CLA and shutter repair from Eric earlier this year, I can only say I am very impressed with his work. The camera is SMOOTH! This is the third time I have had a camera serviced and this is definitely the one that came back feeling so much smoother that it is probably better than new. These old pre-Spotmatic cameras are very smooth cameras when properly serviced. I realize most Pentax shooters know of Eric already, but I wanted to give credit where it is due.

This is in sharp contrast to another well known (not Camtech), I assumed competent tech that essentially serviced my mint OM-1 to the point that after sending it back twice with progressively worse results, I cut my losses and sold it as an "as is" parts type camera. What a bad experience. Dealing with Eric was a breath of fresh air.

I had a K2 that I bought from the classifieds here and that too had been serviced by Eric. It felt like a new camera even if it didn't look like one! It seems he's the man for Pentax.

I've had four camera serviced by Eric Hendrickson- three ME Supers and an MX. I will say that I am one of the rare people who didn't get a camera back in perfect condition. On one ME Super he missed that the shutter block was failing- he replaced it for no charge since I had to mail the camera back to him (I paid him for it anyway). On the MX, he didn't get the flash sync timed so I was getting a blacked-out edge on flash shots- after two attempts to fix he traded me an ME Super for the MX. He wanted to use my MX to try some ideas on correcting the problem.

I don't say this to complain about him. These are old mechanical devices, and intermittent problems are a royal pain for anyone. I am passing this along because of how he handled the problems: he simply fixed them and worked with me to make things right. That is the true test of a repairman in my book. When something goes wrong, which it will, will he make it right? He did.

I guess I have some bad mojo with camera repairs. A Rolleiflex that went to Harry Fleenor, the king of Rollie repairmen, had a problem; he fixed it without question, promptly. Krimar Camera, another Rollei guy, butchered a camera and never made good on it, so I will not deal with him again.

Eric Hendrickson is the kind of business man you should support- he does great work, great prices, and he will stand behind his work 100%.

By the way, he will also work on Pentax lenses. For example, I sold a K 24mm to someone who found a centering problem. Eric fixed it for something like $30, relubed it, cleaned it, etc.
