I tend to carry a Leica Vidom variable viewfinder when walking about with my Busch Pressman - it has a Vuefocus viewfinder and it's easiest to leave the camera in my bag until finding a pleasing picture with the Vidom. Having an inverted image is great for checking composition.
I wondered if it's practically possible to modify a Vidom for the 6x7 or 4x5 ratio (rather than the 35mm view) by disassembling and precisely grinding/ filing the 2 adjustable blinds - is there enough metal for this to work?
In case anyone's worried about destroying collectibles, this is a rough example.
