damn.

I just read this CWeeks post about Ikon's viewfinder over at deviantart, and damn.

I love my Ikon more and more! 😀

its true, the zeiss veiwfinder is so much bigger and easier to look out of compared to my m6 ttl, in fact my bessa's veiwfinder is easier to use too. But I think the zeiss and bessa finders lack the contrast of the leica ones, but are easier to focus. Sigh...

As long as you're posting comparison images of the back end of the ZM finder, could you post a comparison of the actual RF patch though the eyepiece between the ZM and M7? No one has a ZM in my area and I'd love to see how it looks compared to an M.

If I shift my eye off the center of the eypiece in the ZI, the rf patch fades away progressively. If I shift my eye by the same distance off the center of the eyepiece in the M7, I see the back cover of the camera, the eyepiece is not there anymore... However, since I use glasses, I tend to center my eye better, else I cannot see properly the frames, so for me there's no visible difference in the rf patch contrast, however the Ikon VF is simply much brighter and bigger.

as I said. those are not my shots. and I most certainly do not have a Leica M7

Can anyone get a clear shot like this with digicam though a ZM finder? Here's a shot I took of the Hexar RF finder using a digicam (set at it's longest focal length) up against the eyepiece.

lemos, are those the 50mm framelines in your picture?

those are 35. I think you can make it. it's written on the bottom of the frame.

Funny, it worked pretty well with my Nikon P5100 digicam using a tripod support, one for each camera to get the best possible image.

that's very funny indeed 🙂 good for you 😀

I am not going to get a tripod, and try to get the best image possible, sorry 😉

Maybe you covered the RF window (with your finger or so) ? Not meaning to be sarcastic - happens to me all the time.

Roland.

I didn't. You can see the RF window's image on the photo. Just look a bit to the left on the GTN's lens. You can see the lens' lettering duplicated.

it's just a crappy digicam. I would've brought out the 20D or something, if I hadn't got such a crude response. Perhaps someone will do you guys the favour 🙂
