I'm wondering if any of the LTM Voigtländer lenses were made compatible with the Leica LTM Nooky or Nooky Hesum or if they made their own close focus adapter with goggles for the screw mount Leicas.

My knowledge in optics is not strong enough to understand why the Nooky wouldn't work on the Heliar 3.5 or even why the Summar/Summarit only work with the Nooky Hesum. I'm guessing it has to do entirely with accurate RF focusing as opposed to it's ability to actually close focus..

Then perhaps in theory if I were to modify the goggles on the Nooky Hesum, I could make it align with the focus point for the Heliar while mounted with it?

Enlighten me.

There were a number of "Pleasant" brand close-up adapters called an Auto-up. It doesn't appear Voigtlander made any of their own for 35mm (they did make some for their TLRs).

The Auto-up is a close-up lens with an attached prism to correct the field of vision in the finder.

I don't know if Voigtlander ever made any.

Like farlymac mentioned, Pleasant brand made a whole line of close-up adapters for a variety of brands/models and lenses, including Leica, Nikon, Konica, etc... Some, like the one for the Summitar, had the prism attached to the close-up lens. Others had a clamp on close-up lens, with an arm and prism that mounted to the shoe.

There were also a few "Universal" models which may fit certain Voigtlander lenses. The Type A and Type AA models fit lenses with an outer diameter of 42mm, while the Type B fit lenses with an outer diameter of 36mm. Here's the Type B - with the separate close-up lens and prism, mounted on an Elmar 5cm f/3.5.

Wow that is an incredible device! I love it. I'll be up all night now figuring out which lenses will be compatible with that.
