So, I took the new lens out today for a test drive. I thought people here might be interested; maybe you are, maybe you are not.
If you are, please enjoy, if not, oh well. By-the-way, it's a manual focus lens so not every shot is perfect.

Can you make some shots with this lens with straight lines alongside the borders of the frame? Uncorrected? I would like to see if there is any linear distortion. That is very important for me as analoge photographer. Thanks!
Mike, I am sorry, I didn't want to ruin your beautiful portrait, I only wanted to show how well distortion in your lens is corrected.

Mike, a suggestion! It's great that you post a ton of photos in a range of threads, but everyone with limited bandwidth will appreciate them even more if you limit the long side of your posted images to 1024 pixels, and instead embed links to the 1600 x 1067 pixel images.

Any focus shift on this lens? I got rid of the f1.1 because the focus shift was unmanageable for me.

There is some focus shift, but that is to be expected from such a fast lens. It's bearable, though. When I got mine, I put in on a tripod to check it. At F1.2 and F1.4, I have some slight front focus, but things are not that obvious when shooting in real world. At F2.0, focus is spot on. From F4.0, it goes slightly backwards. But, again, these are my results at minimum focus distance. I guess that focus shift will be even harder to notice at longer distances.
While I've never owned a CV 50/1.1, my guess is that 50/1.2 has a much more manageable focus shift.

I've never seen any focus shift on my copy of the Nokton 50mm f/1.1, but that lens doesn't focus closer than 1m and I've never used it on a digital camera.

In my experience, most lenses exhibit some degree of focus shift. Even my Planar 50/2 suffers from it, although the shift can be measured in millimeters at minimum focus distance. But this can only be measured in a controlled environment (good eyesight, good lighting, tripod and test charts). In real world, it's close to impossible to spot. The only lens I have without focus shift is the Zeiss Distagon 35/1.4, but this one has a floating element.
As for the Nokton 50/1.1, being such a conventional design (no floating elements, no aspherical elements), I am convinced it must show some degree of focus shift. It would be miraculous not to.
