I just received a Voigtlander 50mm F3.5 Heliar Lens in Nikon Rangefinder mount. I am having problems using 27mm filters on this lens. I bought a 27mm B+W UV filter for this lens. It screws into the lens fine, but the lens hood only screws in 1/8 of a turn and stops. The hood fits the lens fine. Has anyone else experienced this or are any of you using other makes of filters that work fine?

Could be tolerances or thread pitch, 1/8 seems to indicate pitch.

27MM filters use 0.75 pitch and 0.5 pitch . The B+W filter I have is 27mm ES. They also make a 27mm E. I would think that one would screw into the lens and one would not. It still doesnt explain the factory hood not fitting.

Thread pitch is the problem. certain filters, 27mm in this case come with a standard 27 mm rear filter thread and the front filter comes in 27mm 0.5 and 0.75 filter thread. The heliar requires the 0.75 thread. the silver colored filter to match the Heliar would be the B+W filter 27e not 27mm es that B&H Sells.

Bumping this thread.
I can't find any definitive information or source about what type of filters the Heliar 3.5 takes (and allow to use the hood) and where to get them.
Anyone?
