I have just re-discovered my Bessa II w/ Color Skopar.

It has been in the family since new and in my hands for the past 30 years in which time I have only put 5 rolls of film through it. It is in need of a CLA.

I'm don't mind sending it overseas for the work as long as the repairer is good.

Any recommendations please?

Cheers
Peter

I'd be inclined to think there should be someone here in Australia who can help, but, in terms of overseas options, Chris Sherlock is just across the Tasman in Dunedin, and he's excellent with lens shutters. I'm assuming it has a Synchro Compur in it? It's a shutter he's more than familiar with.
Cheers,
Brett

Thanks Brett.
It needs the RF cleaned as well as the shutter - in other words a total CLA of all functions.

Chris is generally considered to be one of the best guys around for the Retina rangefinders, so I couldn't see a RF clean and adjustment of a Voigtlander being a challenge for him. I have not worked on that model Bessa, but my experience of other Voigtlanders is that they are well made, if sometimes unique camera designs, come apart cleanly and re-assemble the same, due in part to the quality materials used in their construction. It's one reason I'm partial to their classic kit myself.
Cheers,
Brett
