Greetings !

Hope I'm in the correct dept for ancient Voigtlanders...

I just picked-up a nice ProminenT I outfit: body, 1.5 Nokton 50; 3.5 SKopar 35; 4.5 Dynaron 100; Proximeter I, and a hood/filter set.

The camera body / shutter appears to be in good condition, all speeds running correctly (or pretty close).

The lenses are also decent, although I was a little surprised to see some air-bubbles in the rear element of the Nokton 50.

The hood / filter set that came with does not fit any of the lenses... the filters /hood all end in -----/49, which I presume means 49mm...

The inside of the lens mount is threaded, and appears to be 46 mm (?) ; the outside diameter of the front-ring is 47mm, for a slip-on ?

My camera appears to be an early version: no accesory shoe, s/n: B 165xx.

Did V-lander revise the filter-mount / lenses for the PromienT ?

Is there a 47mm push-on to 49mm threaded filter adapter ?

Thanks !

Luddite,
The hood is a push on type hood. The Prominent I is a pain to use, but the lenses are awesome in quality.

There are two versions of vintage Prominent Noktons when refering to their filters and hoods, the early version uses 47mm push on (or slip on whatever you call it) filters and hood and the later version of Nokton uses 49mm screw on filters and hood. It seems that you have an early version of Nokton but later version of filter and hood. They won't fit together. One trick to fit them is is wrap the front rim of the Nokton with some masking tape and slip on the filter, then you can screw the hood on the filter.

There is a Voigtlander Nokton hood adapter, the 331/49, that seems to allow mounting a 49 hood on at least some Noktons. Kevin Li at Kevincameras has one for sale with pictures. I always guessed it screwed onto the threads that are outside the filter ring on some but not all Noktons, but the two lenses I've seen didn't have those threads and I've never handled the adapter. How it works isn't clear from the pictures but the Nokton the adapter is going onto, I think, has the second set of threads.

There are also 47mm push-on hoods and filters that crop up on ebay from time to time.
