Voigtlander rectangular 21mm LH-1 hood for 35 summicron ?

Does anyone know if the rectangular voigtlander 21mm LH-1 hood can be fitted on a 35 summicron (pre-asph or asph)?

The filter ring of the summicrons are 39mm. So too is the CV 21mm lens for which the hood is designed. I forget if the hood screws onto the CV 21mm or whether it merely fits over it and is tightened with the exterior screw/band.

Can someone who has this hood and either a 35/cron pre-asph or asph try it? I have circular hoods, but am interested in getting this rectangular if it works.
