Voitlander Finder Question

I found an old Voitlander VF and think it goes with the reflex housing for a Prominent. Can anyone confirm that is what it is?

That doesn't look like the Prominent reflex housing finder at all -- I'm pretty sure that was a 90 degree finder (i.e. you look straight down).

Voigtlander made no medium format SLRs, nor was its 35mm SLR (the Bessamatic) equipped with a removable finder. So who knows what you have there!

Are you sure that's the right box for it? If the finder were Voigtlander I think you'd see the name on it somewhere.

"Bessamatic?" I thought it was "Bessaflex." Are there two?

It is a Voigtlander VF as it is so marked on the leather/leatherette covering and it fits like a glove in the box. I think the top eye piece on the reflex housing slides off and this one replaces it for viewing the image right way round. I have seen one site that I think shows the VF on the reflex housing with an Ultragon 5.8/24 attached. If Voigtlander made no SLRs with interchangeable finders there is no other answer. Never saw one before and it just fell into my lap with a lot of three cameras and it would not be for any of them. I sure wish I had the reat of the rig this fits but I don't think I'll ever run into that.

I should add the site that I found it on was here http://www.taunusreiter.de/Cameras/Bessa_RF_histo.html. Just a short scroll down.

There does not seem to be much interest in old Voigtlander RFs on this forum so I will post this link http://www.novacon.com.br/odditycameras/voigtland2.htm for anyone needing the info I was looking for. It finally gave me the answer I was looking for. They seem to be interesting cameras and this might be the push I need to get one.

(Nikon) Bob, thanks for that link. I use Voigtlander 6x6's (and the Kontur finder is a hoot), and recently fell in love with a plain old Vito B. These are wonderful cameras with good glass. Now that Winter is coming, the coat pocket is spoken for.

The Prominent? Since I have to be careful about my obsessive compulsive disorders, and my budget, I'll content myself with looking at pictures of them.

Well, there's a Prominent with 3 lenses on the auction site, ending today. Fortunately there is a cold shower here in the building where I work.
