Hi,
I'd like to share my problem and solution of it in case someone ever encounters a similar problem.
I've downloaded trial VueScan 8.6 and with my Minolta Dimage Scan Dual III it would often hang / freeze, all of a sudden in the middle of scanning. This would happen every about 10 frames.
Setting the process priority to real-time and assigning the process to one processor core (on multi-core CPUs) seems to have solved it.
