I was looking to purchase Vuescan for my Nikon 5000

Thanks

the "pro" version gives you lifetime upgrades. Think about that. Now the Vuescan version I am using is over a year old, but I have not paid for an upgrade in seven years. Every few years I remind Ed Hamrick that it was the best $35 I ever spent.
Occasionally I wonder what price would have been fair for me to pay in 1984 for DOS 1.11 with perpetual upgrades? Or those early DOS versions of Work and Excel?

View scan pro, definitely. I've been using it for four years and the life time upgrades are a huge bonus. HAMRICK releases almost monthly upgrades and it keeps on getting better. I used mine with my Minolta Dimade 5400 and now with my Nikon 5000. Get the Pro, Andrew.

Pro. It allows you to save raw 16 bit files, then I convert them with Color Neg and Color Pos.

I have the pro version and it is the only scanner software that I use. I would highly recommend it. Lifetime upgrades are definitely worth the extra price.

Comparing to the price of Silverfast and the bundled Nikon Scanner-Software it is a no-brainer to buy the Vuescan Pro-version, IMHO. Life-time upgrades, 16 bit and the possibility to calibrate it for color with IT8 targets are valuable benefits of the Pro-version.
