What is with this BIN price of 3500,- USD on the bay for a W-Nikkor 35/1.8 in S mount  ?

Am I missing something, why this is so pricey?

Probably some HK, Photo Arsenal, or GoKevinCameras listing. You're not missing a thing - except falling for hype.

Good, blood pressure is @ normal again (it is a BIN of about 5x the ~going price for this gem.

I though for 3500 USD, this must have been some seriously special rare sample - even the one in LTM mount is half the asking price and that one is a rare lens.

the only one justifieing some more of blood pressure, would be the all black 2005 re-edition (2500 pcs) with improved coatings, those would rather go in the 2k+ area, but 3500.- is really exagerated, esp. for the silver-rim vintage lens.

if it is the one on kevin cameras, early 351xxx serial number then YES, it is correct, but probably would sell faster in the $2500 -3000 price, if it is another lenses, the leica mounts are around $1000-1500, nikon mount $400-800, watch the rear element group, separation is common, visible in a bright light. I would not buy one with being able to look at it first. been stung to many times in the past.

I've had several of the LTM versions, they are fairly rare, about 1400 made if memory serves. They peaked at about $2200 for superb examples, that's the most I've seen them go for on ebay maybe a year ago, a little below that now. One of my favorite lenses but I wish it focused at 0.7m like the 35/2 8 element Summicron dual mount :)
