whoa, this is actually a fun thread. jvx's looks so out of place here, I feel like I'm looking at a recent upload on flickr.

And I truly, really do like Ray's photo. It's a date stamp away from being perfect. I honestly would hang it on my wall.

I won't cross-post, but I threw some pet cheez in the "Room with a View" thread. And I wasn't even trying to be ironic.

EDIT: To be sure, I'm not at all trying to be a jerk. After a few days of looking at photos and trying to articulate/decipher what makes a "good" one, I'm just happy to enjoy the cheese! :D I'm looking for one to add now...

How is this shot a cliche?

Just the 101 low-level-empty-road-follow-the-yellow-lines-shot. Been done over and over. Now I have as well :)

Heh - I really dislike the shot I posted. It was a picture I made as a joke, but ever since showing it to some people, they keep saying how great it is... And it annoys me to no end! I have a couple of (b&w) images that I'm really happy with myself in my collection, yet most people only like a shot that I made for a laugh.

Roland, no Photoshop at all actually. Shot on Agfa Ultra 100 with Cokin filters (warming at the top, cooling at the bottom, a grad ND and maybe a regular ND as well, can't remember exactly). Pretty long exposure (around one minute I seem to recall), during which the Scottish mosquitos ate me alive....

i guess we're all too original
I guess. It seems only a few of us have cliché shots, and half of them don't seem to qualify as cliché for others.

You say tomato I say clamato...
