gosh, Paul. I was thrown off for a second, landing on your thread with your post and seeing the familiar face of one Raid's daughters. Nice shot.

Back in December of 2004 I went to Athens very briefly. While I was there I stepped through the Flea Market. Lots of activity, very lively. I'm mystified that I only took a total of 4 PHOTOS of the place, but then again I was worried I might fill up my 256mb memory card on my Canon A70. I'm not sure if I like the originals in color anymore, but I think they're OK in black and white. Ooooohhh to go back in time to my year in Europe and to give myself all the gear and film as I could use. Oh well.

I returned to Europe in '07. This time sporting a DSLR. This is a farmer's market in Versailles. I HATE HATE HATED the palace. Not just for its decadence but for how packed it was. The farmers market was a highlight though.

Photographing the markets of Marrakesh is one of the things I'd love to photograph most int he entire world. One day... one day...

meat section of the official outdoors market in Matanzas, Cuba. They bring in freshly slaughtered hog carcass, cut them up and lay the parts out on the counter. There is no refrigeration. Customers carry out their selection in their hands so they do not have to buy a plastic bag from the vendors.

This is gonna be an awesome thread. Fantastic stuff, already. The one of the older lady strutting proudly down the street is classic.

This is timely, too... I just took a bunch of shots at Toronto's St Lawrence Market yesterday morning! I hope they turn out half as good as these.
