Hello Everyone,
I have followed these forums for years for news/discussions about gear and for inspiration from the great photographers who post here. I thought it was time to finally contribute to this great community, so here I am.
I am a photojournalist based out of NYC and mostly shoot for magazines and newspapers. While I am not much of a 'gear-head', I think good tools are critically important to create good work. Back when I shot film, I shot with a Leica m6 and m7 and have searching for the digital equivalent ever since.
About a year ago I picked up a GF1 with a 20mm lens and a Olympus optical viewfinder. I have taken this camera around the world and through the paces, and while it leaves a few critical things to be desired as far as functionality is concerned (which I can expand on if anyone is interested), it is a great little companion and produces excellent images. I use it everyday and take it everywhere with me.
I hope you enjoy a few of my favorite shots. I also post a 'Photo of the Day' on my blog: http://jonathanauch.com and have a Flickr photostream which you can find here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/31186655@N00/) if you want to follow my work.
Look forward to the exchange.
All the best,
Jonathan Auch

I'd be interested to hear if that Olympus optical finder is fairly accurate? I use the Voigtlander 40mm finder and it shows about 90% (approx) of the what I see on the LCD. That's not good enough for composing out to the edge of the frame. And I'm about to get the Voigtlander 28mm finder for the 14mm pancake.

Wow, those shots are great.
Really nice seeing some real photographers using this kit.

Just stumbled on this while looking for info on the GF-1. Great shots really love the quality of the color ones especially.
Out of curiosity, what don't you like "while it leaves a few critical things to be desired as far as functionality is concerned (which I can expand on if anyone is interested)".
I've got a GRD III which is the first digital camera that I like using but I'm attracted to something with a bigger sensor and that feels a bit more like my M4-P.

i really like my gf-1. i like that it feels a bit more substantial in the hand than other m4/3 cameras. i am trying to sell it if youre interested though.

These are really nice. Do you use any exposure compensation to subdue bright highlights or through post processing?
