People are social creatures, and therefore form groups.. in which the individuals conform to the social norms and expectations of their peers, whether in dress, mannerisms, beliefs.. and so on..

Share your pictures of social conformity!

To start off this thread (and what gave me the idea in the first place), are these two pictures of young women at Sydney's Manly beach:

Hopefully not totally off-topic, the military being nothing if not an engineered social organization. And what bleats conformity but a non-conformist?

A man threatened to sue a magazine for using his picture in an article about hipsters looking alike, only to learn the photo was of someone else who closely resembled him.

MIT Technology Review published a story about a mathematical study which purports to explain "Why anti-conformists always end up looking the same."

"The guy who’d threatened to sue us for misusing his image wasn’t the one in the photo. He’d misidentified himself. All of which just proves the story we ran: hipsters look so much alike that they can’t even tell themselves apart from each other."

Interesting story and informations Chris, thanks for the link.

Beingnow in my '70s I think it has always been so, more or less...when I was 20 I believed to be anticonformist with a long beard as most of my friends of the same age....
