I just finished processing the Agfapan 100 shot from my 3 Christmas toys, an Olympus XA, Canonet GIII and Yashica GT. I shot some old bulk loaded Agfapan souped in Rodinal 1:50. There has been so much discussion of that, I had to try it again using an old bottle that I never opened.

Quick look shows what everyone is talking about, sharpness, contrast, detail.

here are some samples. First one is the yashica gt, second is the canonet 1.7, third is the XA. I find with the XA I had to set the meter to 400 to get a decent exposure. Canonet and Yashica are set to 100. Agfapan 100 in Rodinal 1:50.

These images all shot from the same position, not perfectly accurate but interesting comparison. Only photoshop is scanned to 2700 dpi on Coolscan III, downsampled to 900 pixels wide, USM 50%, .5 radius, twice. Same for all 3. Tried to get the tones similar, but the XA is over exposing. Don't think these will replace my G1 anytime soon, but they are interesting

Another from the Yashica GT. I like the contrast of this lens, and I like the handling of the camera. Too many finger problems with the XA. But I don't like the not know what the shutter speed is.

The Canonet corrects all of the above problems, but seems a little less contrasty.

last one, this one looking at the Canonet bokeh. I find that the small highlights are actually nice little pentagons, and have slightly harsh edges, so I guess that is bad bokeh. I am no expert on that subject. I always liked the Nikon 100mm f/2.8 series E for backgrounds used at 2.8 or 4
