First time using photo service of Wal Mart. Really disappointed as out of 3 rolls they cut 4 frames at the wrong place which literally destroyed them. They did 1 picture in panoramic mode which is not, color and contrast way off. Worst part is their attitude, denial. Wonder if anybody got different experience?

I have two in my town that always do a good job. They have long time employees in photo lab.

Totally depends on who is working there. I had good luck with a local Wal-Mart for a long time, till they had a personnel change. Now there are a couple of CVS's I frequent.

Ambitious, but rubbish
FWIW the Walgreens I usually go to seems to have gone downhill in terms of processing - The last 2 rolls i brought to them came back with prints made on paper so thin it felt like regular writing paper.

I use Wall Mart for all my c41 processing and have it scanned to CD. The only issue I had when they accidentally scanned one roll at at 6mp instaad of the 3Mp they usually do. I could not get them to figure out how they did it. Oh well! I also use their on line enlargement services They make excellent large poster prints. If you have a high resolution scan gamble $12.00 for a 16x20 Poster. O think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I brought a roll of film to Walgreens once and got back a cd full of pics of a female body builder.

They process and print a roll of 120 for $1.44 and they do a great job, what more do I need? Viva Walmart!

Walmart greeters are great. I send walmart my B&W, Kodachrome, Portra and have them develop and provide proofs. They charge me $1.50 for DP a roll of 120 film, five bucks for a roll of kodachrome. If/when I get anything of value I take it several blocks down the street to a great lab for enlargements.
However, on a special shoot I take it to a pro lab to reduce chance for screwup.

really? this is an amazing price! what size are the prints? do all the stores do this? I would love to shoot C41 120 b&w film, but am too lazy to drive across town twice to pay a lot of money for the prolab to do it for me. will Walmart make prints from 6x9 or only 6x6?
thanks!

I avoid Walmart (aka Wally World) as much as I can. Mostly I disagree with the way they do business in general, not the quality -- or lack of same -- of their photo lab.
Their photo services are spotty. It depends on so many things as to if you get an excellent job or a totally vile job! I've had both over the years, sometimes both at times from the same shop.
A FOAF of mine now runs the photo department of a local (but majorly inconvenient to me) Wally World. Their shop just quit film processing, but the guy knows what he is doing. Unfortunately that can't be said about many of them.
OBTW, Wally World just jacked up their Kodachrome prices. They are now about the same as sending directly to Dwayne's.

they'll print 6x9 negatives ok! the prints i've gotten back, from both 6x6 and 6x9 are the economy 3'' size prints
to be very clear here, this is not Wal Mart processing but Fuji, who wal mart sends to. if you're looking for beautiful pictures on the cheap, i'd recommend the arista.edu 100 iso b&w film. wal mart charges about a buck more for b&w processing of 120, but that's about how much cheaper the arista is than say, a c41 film like portra. and I've been really happy with the quality

Where? I still pay $4.88 per roll which is half of sending directly to Dwayne's.

My film shots are valuable enough to me to only go for the best. I now send all of my film, except Kodachrome, to LTI in New York. And I never have prints made. I scan myself and print what I want at home. It's the best of both worlds.

I have a solution to your WalMart delimma. Shoot B&W & develop it yourself. OTOH WalMart has done what I expected of them except for c-41 process b&w chromogenic film. It comes back with a pink tint. I still will let them do color & I have let them scan my b&w negatives to a cd after I develop a roll of film because I don't have a scanner.

I use Rite-Aid (local drug store with 1hr lab) for my developing, but after multiple cut frames, I just ask for them uncut and cut them myself at home. I scan my negatives anyway.

The bible belt confuses me. "If the only option is the devil, then I guess I have to choose the devil" is what I think I just heard.![]()
VanHalen's, Running with the Devil should be redone to Shopping with the Devil. Oh and BTW does this mean Fred...oops I mean Butthead

No...I'm playing nice! If you look at Fred's signature it says"shut up Bevis" so I'm taking that to mean Fred has taking up the role of Butthead. I'm just poking fun. Bevis & Butthead wereIs this as nice as you can be today, gb? I think I see your name being penned onto the "naughty" list.

Oh, sorry. I have small kids and that kind of talk (even in jest) gets out of control in my house. I should have remembered... you're a grown-up too!
