I recently bought at auction a Contax 35mm f2 G lens, unfortunatly I did not come with the rear lens cover ( got the lens for very good price £127). Buying a new one seems to cost $24 plus postage for this piece of plastic. So my question is does anyone know of any alternative make to Contax or do you have one spare that I could buy at a reasonable price.

The rear cap is GK-R1. How about an "excellent" used one for $14?

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal on that 35 Planar-G; that's my most recent purchase too. I find it very relaxing to use, after experiencing other lenses in the line, a comfy groove to settle into.

My used 35g arived yesterday, and I'm hunting for the metal cap to be put on the lens hood 
A missing rear cap is a real bummer, especialy with the protruding rear element. I'm missing one too, but that's not so important as I have a lens on the body all the time.

Ah! As you reminded me I checked at www.foto-huppert.de and they have the rear cap new for 10 Euros

Foto Huppert is a reputable dealer, I got my G2 Body and a used Sonnar 90 there.
When you phone them, you mostly get his wife. I just sent a 139q with a jammed shutter to get an estimate on a repair and a RTS for cleaning to them.

I got to checkout in there system as I ordered I rear cap. But I will wait until my wife returns as she can speak German and I need to register with FOTO HUPPERT.

As you may be as paranoid as I am with registrations, i.e. giving out my postal and e-mail address, I can assure you they don't spam. I get a cataloge from Foto Huppert every couple of month and once a year they add a nice goody like the B+W filter brochure which comes in handy. They never send me an e-Mail which was not an answer to a question I asked.

I eventually found a rear lens cover in London for my 35mm g lens @ £5, which is a good price for a new one.
The camera shop where I bought my cover told me that Contax UK have sent all their new stock to Germany, and from there onto Japan. I suppose this means accesseries will be difficult to find in the future locally, and we will have order online.
