War Photographer (James Nachtwey)...finally found a place locally that had it for rent. It's nice to watch the whole thing instead of little clips from youtube.
If it isn't already, this documentary should be part of a curriculum.
For those who haven't seen it... check it out. Definitely a must see.

I ended up downloading it a few years back because I couldn't find it anywhere. Actually, the scene where the printer is doing his dodging and burning with the wall projection was one of the reasons why I got into darkroom printing. It just looked so neat to be so hands-on with the print.... and I'm not talking about wiggling a mouse in front of a computer.

Agreed.
I haven't done darkroom printing since high school and watching that scene showed just how much of an art (or rather dance?) printing can be....

thanks jk! I'll add +1 to his words and deeds. There's a lot of pain out there that needs to be examined carefully. There must be better ways to deal with even some of it than attempting resolutions with weapons.

I read about this movie a few months ago and have really been wanting to see it.

I saw this a few years ago, and I remember liking how they attached a video camera to his actual camera to give the viewer James' perspective when shooting. Very powerful movie, only a select few can do what he does, putting one in such dangerous situations for the "shot"

I could never find it to buy, it was always listed as out of stock. So I downloaded it. Sorry James

Worth seeing especially if you're interested in how these kinds of images are made...

...definitely...
And beyond that - James' approach, philosophy and most of all his humbleness... worth seeing.
