Washing Billingham

Have any of you ever put your Billingham insert into either the washing machine or the dryer? I am trying to figure out a way to "age" the insert as I do not use it all day/everyday and want it a little more flexible and body-conforming.
Another option: Are the Tenba inserts more "flexible? and do they fit well in a Hadley Pro? I am not opposed to putting the Hadley insert into a Timbuktu bag if needed.
