I received a Wester S-2 included with my purchase of a TLR from Japan and would like some info before refurbishing it. At present the shutter cocks but releases immediately, the focus and aperture rings are locked solid, I assume from dried or absent lubrication, the shutter does seem relatively accurate but as noted, it won't stay cocked. I can deal with all this but wondered: the chrome ring around the front element seems screwed into the chrome lens barrel and the barrel has a groove in it suggesting it is two parts, but both are also locked in place. If that is the case I'd like to know before applying any removal techniques. The o.d. of the barrel is 36mm so it would need a push-on filter of that size. There are a couple of videos from Japan Vintage Camera but no manual or diagrams I can find. Any infor/suggestions welcome, thanks.
