Hi All!
My aunts husband gave me an old camera that had belonged to grandfather last year, and now I've finally gone through a roll to try it out.
It's a Westex scale focus folder, with a 80/4.5 lens.
The camera worked quite well, aside from a few small light leaks and some operator error.
The biggest problem, is that I now want a folding MF camera, with some kind of distance meter (rangefinder). I'm not at all into wide angle, would very much prefer longer than standard lens and wouldn't mind a 645 or 690 non square format.
What are my options?
Since I'm already heavily invested in Leica, 4x5 and 5x7, I'd prefer it to be on the cheap side.. I could probably do a bellows replacement myself if needed.
And as always, any thread is worthless without pictures:

Fuji GS645 Professional is a great choice for a more modern, affordable folder. You may need to get bellows replaced, but it takes excellent images. Has a meter and rangefinder, but is fully mechanical. Otherwise the Ikontas or even the Voigtlander Bessa are great choices.

These also only come with standard and wide angle lenses? Were there no portrait photographers who wanted small cameras in the film era?? :bang:Fuji GS645 Professional is a great choice for a more modern, affordable folder. No long lenses on folders that I'm aware of. Another thing to consider if you're using it up close is minimum focus distance. Most focus down to around 1m/3ft, but my Super Ikonta C (6x9, pre-war 530/2) minimum is 1.5m/4.5ft, which would likely make a considerable difference in the usage you're suggesting.

Good point! I got the Leica 90 Macro to counter this on small format! No long lenses on folders that I'm aware of. Another thing to consider if you're using it up close is minimum focus distance.
