I find camera half cases for 35 mm RF (a'la Luigi or Zhou) nice (I do not have any yet) but I hate the look and bulk of full cases. I was wondering - what about a half case on which one can attach a complementary half case which would cover just the top and front part of the camera body and jut leaving a hole for the lens (eventually without hole so the lens would have to be removed.
I got thinking about this as this would allow to transport the camera without additional special "case" in a daily backpack or larger shoulder bag. It would still be rather slim but keep the body safe form scratches and keeping viewfinder and film advance lever safe. Lens is easy to put in a small pouch or something.
For shooting you would just remove the front part and keep the camera in the remaining half case.
I have not seen a case like that. Have you? Would you find it interesting?

i don't see why the top half of the case should have a hole for the lens. you wouldn't be able to access the controls with it in place, so why bother having the lens uncovered? it doesn't make sense! however, i could see the appeal of a full case that doesn't have a cup to go over a lens, as it might be easier to pack the body and lens separately.
