What Camera Is This?

I've just finished watching 'The Newsroom' and I have to say it's some of the best TV I've seen in a while ... I've managed to watch the entire series over a couple of weeks. One of the characters in the show, Neil who runs the network's website, quite often had this camera (I assume) on his desk at various times, usually in the background and often out of focus.

I'm curious as to what it is?

I don't bother owning a TV these days so just watched it on my i-mac ... the free to air stuff they offer here in Oz is a joke.
