After visiting a local thrift shop, and spending $3 plus tax I ended up with these:

Thats right - 99cents each. 2 cameras came with batteries and one even with film!. Some minor cleanning and all seem to be working fine.
Only had a chance to use a Pentax SLR with it's 50/2 lens - and I think it was a $1 well spent 😉 :
Hope others will prove worthwhile a well.
