I was wondering: what computer operating system are you using at this very moment?
(I am currently working on a 1999 iMac running OS X)

OSX 10.4.9, on my brand new 15" MacBook Pro ("for school"). This is the first Mac I've ever used with regularity, and I must say it's quite nice.

currently the macs lead. Does that mean we have less Win users in the forum or are the Mac guys more eager to tell everybody?
Even more interesting: How does the "I need total control attitude" go with the Apple. "we will take care of that for you philisophy"

Mac OS X on a G4 iBook. There are five Macs in the house running everything from System 6.1.8 to 10.4.10.

13 to 17 as I write this. Not that much of a lead, but surprising none the less. Seems just not as many Windows users are coming up to say so. I am surprised the linux users are less represented. Where is Bill M?
Oh, and I am using Windows XP SP2. If I changed, it would be to Linux, but I don't see the need. Much as I liked Unix in school, Windows was more common, and Linux was not around in those days. Acutally, I was using a Commodore 64 with GEOS, until a house fire paid for an IBM compatable. Boy was I hot, 33 mh motherboard, 4 meg of ram, 1 meg on the video broard, and a whopping 200 meg of hard drive. You probably couldn't load many programs in 200 meg these days.

OS 10.4.9 on my Mac Pro Quad Xeon 2.66 with an old LaCie Electron Blue 22 CRT monitor (which cost me the princely sum of £65). Scanner for film is my Minolta Dimage 5400 and I use Lightroom 1.1

I'm running Linux. Ubuntu Studio, to be precise. I have two OSs in my computer, Win XP and Linux, and I use Linux most of the time. Win for Photoshop, Autocad and some music applications. I really dislike Windows. It's really slow once you've installed some programs. I hope Adobe ports Photoshop to Linux.
I tried a mac once and didn't like it. All that design... There are lots of good audio/graphic apps for it though.
What I'll like to see is every app ported to all OSs, so the user can choose whatever OS he prefers.
