What do you think of Joe's plan?

It occurs to me that if it was that easy, it'd already be done.

It also seems to me that buying oil from much of the world gives much of the world a vested interest in our economy. Our need for oil supports economies all over the world. It doesn't seem real smart to destroy economies across the globe and alienate economic allies, if one has read history. You know, the way shattered economies tend to give rise to extremist regimes and spawn expeditionary terrorist organizations.

I'm not saying exploring other options for sourcing fuel will ruin the world, just that there is nothing inherently wrong with leaving some potential reserves untapped. And there is plenty of benefits from sourcing energy beyond our borders.

I'm pretty sure I have less money left over after paying bills than "AverageJoe," and somehow I can go on living knowing that five years or more from now there will still be untapped fuel sources under US borders. In fact, I think it helps me sleep better, knowing there is something held back against a day a whole lot more uncomfortable than today. And I find his whining irritating.
