I'd be interested to hear what you think about this one:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351819024278?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
OK so it is not in great condition and yet it has attracted quite a lot of interest and I am not sure why.
If the serial number is that written on the base plate then yes, it is an early camera, six screws, no DOF scale etc etc but I think the knobs are later and of course there is the poor chrome plating job. The lens seems to have a lot of shimming twixt it and the vulcanite and someone has opened the collimation hole.
Am I missing something? Or have I lost touch with the value of hockey stick cameras?
No connection etc, just curious.

Hi,
I guess people will buy it for parts or else have the parts waiting for it...

I'm not up to speed on how much Hockey-stick Leicas go for these days. I guess this one's garnering such interest because it *IS* a hockey-stick leica, condition be damned.....maybe.

I can't find an 'ordinary' one for sale at the moment but I'd guess that a nice but worn one is a little way south of £500. Much more if condition is good. Standards are significantly cheaper.

This one is unusual in that it appears to be in chrome or nickel plate. I presume this is a later mod to the camera.

Looks a bit like the first Leica of Cartier-Bresson.
