When using a 25mm lens on the R-D1 what are people using? The digital 25 Epson finder that cameraquest sells or a 35mm finder? Seems both could work.
And which 25? CV or Zeiss. The Zeiss reviews on film have been stellar as they have on the M8. Obviously I like th price of the CV but the speed of the Zeiss.
Thanks
Neil

Still trying to See.
CV 28/35mm Minifinder. Clear, well built, smaller than other finders. Suitable for 21mm (32mm equivalent) as well and great on the Richol GRD also.

The CV 35mm finder works great with a 25mm lens and is a beautifully made little chunk of metal and glass that is much more satisfying than the plastic-shelled 25D finder. I wear glasses, and found the 35 easier to see through then the 28/35 minifinder, otherwise I might have bought the latter, which would cover you for a 21mm lens on the R-D1 as well.
Lenses. I don't know about the CV 25. I own a handful of other CV lenses and they are quite good. But the Zeiss 25mm is the best lens I own. Like the way it renders color, its sharpness, lack of distortion, clarity, edge to edge performance, and good transition to OOF areas. Absolutely outstanding lens. My CV 21mm is nice, too, but not even close...

genius and moron
I've switched to the Zeiss finder for the 25/28 with my M7. I'v been using the ZM25 & 28 and love them both on film. I've got the Leica 21-24-28 finder that I'll be putting in the classifieds in abut a week and a half once I'm back from this trip.
