What have I gotten myself into?

So I’m browsing Evilbay and come across a QL17 GIII for $35. Seller got it from a family member and never used it...body and glass look nice. So GAS attacks and I buy it. Now I’m thinking back was it a good purchase, who knows, I'll have to wait till it gets here.

What’s the worse that can happen? If it does need some attention who can I send it to? I hear Gman is the man if he has time. Is there anyone else? Thanks!

Well, the worst that could happen it that you'll have a non-working lump of junk! But that probably unlikely. The Canonets were quite resiliant little cameras and as long as no-one (inexperienced) has tried to take it apart it'll likley be mechanically good. In my limited experience of these camaras, I've had 5 of them, I have found that cloudy view-finders and battery compartment corrossion are the most common ailments along with the dreaded fungus in the lens! Modt of these probs can be fixed yo at least make the camera usable, but I would recommend that if your canonet does need attention, unless you are good at mending gadets, you send to someone like gman for a CLA.
