Being the camera that loves to be played with, I thought it would be interesting to discuss and show what you've done to your Holga cameras. While I'll throw pics up later I'll start by saying that so far mine has the following mods:

Aperture fix
PC connection (it works great)

I added the PC connector so I could use my Holga for portrait work with my strobes. I plan on the following:

Leather covering: I found that on the japanese portion of Aki-Asahi camera coverings, they offer a leather covering for the Holga. I'm hoping he'll extend it to the western market

Cable release : I don't want to use the adapter, I'd like it to be attached to the body

Waist Level Finder: Still waiting on the junker box camera for this. Uder the hotshoe of the camera is just a gigantic emptiness, just looking for a waist level finder to make the Holga great for street work and other odd positioned shots.

So, what have you done?

Converted mine to pin-hole then shot one roll of overdeveloped film and retired it to closet.

I chopped one up and mounted the lens on a body cap for a DSLR. Haven't messed with the other beyond the requisite opaque tape.

I rebranded mine. Check the pinkie-on-button camera handling technique.

ps, sorry for the superfluous exif data, this was originally made for another forum.

I have done the aperture mod. I have no idea what it is now but the hole is bigger. I also bought a hot shoe adapter with a sync so I can use an old external flash I have. I made a new mask from the 4.5x6 mask to get better vignetting but I'm still not satisfied with it. I also made it more 'stealth' by using black marker pen and tape on it. It doesn't leak light so I only need tape to keep the back on.

Next on the modding list would be tripod mount, cable release and bulb.

Oh, forgot to mention, I added filter threads to it by epoxying a step up ring to the lens barrel.

I'll probably measure the focus on the lens and put a more accurate distance scale when I get the chance.

I have painted two of mine, one yellow, one red.
Edit: I have written a How To Paint Your Holga, article that is going to appear in the next issue of Light Leaks.

Flat black paint on the inside. Randomly close focusing. Gouged out as much of an aperture as I could with a Stanley knife. Still probably only 5.6 - the Noctiholga never quite materialised...
