That is also NOT a LEICA, rather it is a FED or ZORKI that has been stripped of its Chrome down to brass, the original engraving has been polished off, and it has been re-engraved with the Leica nomenclature, and it also has a new body covering. Also the never-ready case has had the front re-embossed with the Leica logo.

Of course, that's why it's funny.

oh....my......god.......
you know, some of the fake "leicas" are really nicely done, nice pieces of work in their own rights. some of the ones i have seen i have been sorely tempted by, simply because of the quality of the workmanship that has gone into converting a humble fed or zorki.
this, however, is not one of them.
it looks congealed, rather than designed.
it gives "ugly" a bad name.
the artisans who produce the nice fakes should be hunting down the person responsible for this travesty and at the very least givng them a huge wedgie while explaining the subtler points of leica faking.........
enough. viewing the pictures of this steaming piece of crud has made me want to go and have a nice soothing cup of tea, and a therapuetic fondle of the IIIf.

if it was all gold, it would be something a rapper named No Cents would wear as a necklace

hey, they're only Zorkis
I don't think you guys really appreciate Illinois homegrown craftsmanship. It takes many, many hours of intense labor to puke on a piece of roadkill and skillfully mold it into a camera cover. ... We also make lens caps the size of Hefty Trash bags.... for just such occasions.

And at the opposite end of the spectrum we have this:

Now that's a really good fake!!! If I didn't know better, I think that WAS a Leica III!

As long as the roadkill doesn't have any tatoos on the skin to spoil the effect.CVBLZ4 said:I don't think you guys really appreciate Illinois homegrown craftsmanship. A bit short of shutter dials to be a model III so let's not get carried away about this. However, the camera itself seems to be quite interesting and I submit that it was cobbled before it was faked - and not so well planned.
The main body appears to be Zorki-1. The top plate is almost certainly Zorki too. I'm not sure about the shutter release. It could be FED but it isn't the same as mine. The VF/RF cover is the interesting bit. It is clearly not Zorki but toilet-seat early FED. As such the faker could could have made more money if he had left it alone. I note though, that some clown is putting up $109 for it....

My Red Dot Glows For You
I'm counting the days until I see one with suede and another one with fuzz, and some dice hanging from the lens mount. Just you wait...
