I can understand not having one for DP1 and 2. But this one's a Leica!!!

On a related note, what are the chances of a Panasonic version?
 
I guess once it is shipping they may add a section...

There won't be a Panasonic version of this camera. Panasonic has their own "hit" with the GF-1.
 
An in-house, home-brewed Leica point-n-shoot, that's its category. Not a Panasonic rebadged, but Leica's own vision for a Leica P&S.

That is a good thing, right? However, it also means the $2K price tag may slide only slightly when it hits the market.
 
It's clearly not a point and shoot ... ;)

The sensor size would argue against it being a point and shoot, but functionally it's a non-interchangeable lens camera with an LCD screen for viewing, and onboard flash, so it comes pretty darn close.

I'm not trying to denigrate the X1 with the moniker of P&S, just being realistic.
