What speed for UltraMax 400?

Dear RFFers,

I've just bought some UltraMax 400 because it was a bargain and I have good memories of Gold. I'm also starting to think that until I become more consistent and methodical in my photography I can't really justify the higher costs of the Pro films.

So, what do people tend to rate this film at? Personally, I tend to find that manufacturers are a little optimistic with their box speeds and knock them back a stop.

Does anybody have suggestions and maybe some photos to share of UltraMax 400?

That's my favorite color film, and I rate it at 400 when I shoot it with my Leicas. Best of luck!

320 for me.

When using a normal center weighted camera meter and avoiding bright sky while metering I set my camera's meter to EI 200 or even at EI 160. UltraMax 400 is a great film but it definitely needs more light than ISO400.
