I was recently in Tunisia and had my films developed there as it was sooo much cheaper than in Sweden. Huge mistake. They all came out dirty, badly cut, scratches along some of the negatives, finger prints on the negatives etc. Yes, I know it was stupid as hell.

Now - since I don't do any kind of developing myself I was wondering if it works to just rinse them in medium warm water (30°C), maybe with a drop of dish washing soap? What should I do?

Thanks for any help on this!

Ehr..

I hope you get an answer, I don't know either. That one is so bad, you might try everything, but I do know that rubbing alcohol has an affect on C-41. I bet you are at least stuck with the white spots.

Good luck.

Roll with it? Entitle it "Snow in Tunisia"?
😀

If you can get rid of the fingerprint through washing, the white spots are easy to fix with the healing brush.

I agree with being 'stuck with the white spots' ... those particles will be well and truly part of the emulsion by now I would think and won't be removed by washing.

I see hours of photoshop cloning/healing in your future sorry! 😛

i was taught to use a bit of lighter fluid for scratches(on BW films) but i don't think it will work on this scale or C41 for that matter.

i feel sorry for you, must have been a painful experience. like keith says, photoshop is probably your best bet.
