I have swapped the wide straps on the G1 , with an Olympus from a dead OM10 , both Sony A290 and 35 with Minolta straps from an old 5000 and 3000i .
They are slimline with shoulder pads and are simply less obtrusive , and certainly makes it easier to put into the case .
Maybe it's a generation thing - I have used these straps since 1971 , and the Leica M8 strap is similar .
