when did the 25/4 Snapshot-Skopar get discontinued?????

seems like if i am just a little slack in keeping up with the news, i fall behind....
did the 25/4 Snapshot-Skopar get discontinued when the r4X cameras were released??

No, I think it was well before that. Stephen has had the lens listed as discontinued (though still available) for quite some time now.

What's even more frustrating is that there's no news on a replacement. SG says it will be RF coupled - which is crucial, given that it will be used as a 35mm substitute on the R-D1 and M8. He also said it will be bigger, which implies faster. But how fast? And when will it arrive?

I'm fairly sure the 25mm was discontinued within the last six months. I would venture to say it was springtime. Have you tried sending an email to Stephen Gandy? Probably worth a shot if you need to know more...

My guess is that it will debut at the same time as the R4x in April as the R4 will have 25mm framelines.

Forum search with snapshot & discontinued...

There are still some stocks so the batch must have been too large. One wonders what will happen to prices when the new stock is gone.
