After sitting on the fence for a while, last week I went in to the local shop that sells Leicas and tried the new M type 240. I timed it well as it had just arrived two days earlier - thank you procrastination! It didn't take long for it to feel right in my hands despite all what you read on the internet about how much bigger than my M6 it supposedly is. I was already giving serious consideration to going for the new technology, and the test closed the deal for me. So I ordered one.
Now the bad news. It might arrive within 2013, but may be longer, for the black one I ordered. Silver ones may be a bit faster, but only based on the shop's waiting list for silver being shorter.
If you are on the waiting list, when did you add your name to it, and when do you expect your camera?
PS: This is meant just a bit of unscientific fun while we wait, not at all as an accurate estimate of how quickly Leica will fill their order book.
