I've been looking for get a s/h ZM 21mm f/4.5 Biogon for about a year now, but nothing has come up in the RFF Classifieds in the EU and nothing on ebay.

I've got some money from selling some Canon gear burning a hole in my pocket, so I want to get one soon. I could go new, but I have the CV 21/4 already and wanted to see if the Zeiss was a big step up or not.

So, is the ZM so good that no-one sells it once they have it, or just that there's not that many around in the first place?

I sold mine to Aperture in London a couple of weeks ago, it's probably sold already but give them a call.
It is a fantastic lens, but I recently tried the new Voigtlander 21/1.8, despite being so fast I didn't think it gave anything away to the Zeiss, which I did find limiting because of it's speed. I still haven't committed to the Voigtlander, waiting to see how my finances pan out first.
On my way to sell the Zeiss I fired of a last few frames with it, and seeing the results I did question what I'd done, a brilliant lens in such a small package, but the Voigtlander works on the M9 which the Zeiss doesn't, and it's so much more useful a speed, all be it considerably larger and heavier.

The biogon-C is great. It does everything well.
I thought about selling it a couple of times (I'm not a fanatic WA-shooter), but after a quick look at the negatives it produces (shot on a R4a, great combo) I decide not to every time.
