Hi. I'm trying to set a sale price for an LTM Nikkor 8.5cm lens, and I'm having trouble finding comparisons, especially for the lens with reversing shade and finder. A few years ago, KEH and Ritzcam always had a few, in a variety of conditions, and they have none. There are just a few current ebay listings, and they seem quite high. Does this lens really fetch $600 in excellent condition these days?
Has somebody been snatching these up, lately? If so, should I price high because they're harder to find, or low because everyone who needs one probably has it already? You can probably guess I don't sell very often...
Thanks,
John

Yeah, I noticed that about the black ones. I wanted one, too, for the weight, but got a nice chrome one instead.
I have the shade, but didn't notice the extra raised ring inside to hold a series filter -- that's pretty neat.

GASitis.. finally cured?
There was one on evil-bay last week that went for 199USD w/hood+caps. The seller had 100% feedback. I was a fool to let it go.

The black one is indeed easier to use, and that counts.
Just as a matter of interest, how does the different colour make the lens easier to use? Or are there other differences between the versions?

Yeah, either version is really compact, but the chrome one is quite heavy and solid feeling. It feels good on an M3, though.

Depending on the outcome of my Hasselblad buying, there may be a chrome 8.5cm/2.0 teamed with a 5.0cm/1.4 on the market. A Sonnar pair made in Heaven! The Dynamic Duo made famous by David Douglas Duncan.
Said that way, why on earth would I ever sell either one?

Take a look at kevincameras on eBay. He used to have a few. Generally on the expensive side but you tend to get what you pay for with Kevin.

Right, Wayne. I'm still sometimes sorry I sold my 50mm f/1.4 Nikkor. Maybe I'll get lucky and nobody will want to by mine. Maybe I priced it a little too high on purpose.

I bought two black LTM Nikkors 8.5cm and a chrome one. The black ones are lighter and cost $800-900 for a Mint copy.
