Jorge,
I'm not sure about a deal for pricing, but Glazers in Seattle is carrying them now. I believe that's relatively close to you isn't it?

YEap. 166 miles away
But they are expensive and do not negotiate very much.
By the way, any chrome rd1's ?

I'm not sure anyone is negotiating on this camera. I am sure it only comes in black. Good luck!

Jorge,
Calumet, B&H, and Sammy's in LA. You might try the internet. Go to www.froogle.com and type in epson r-d1.

Jorge,
Buying from Hong Kong seems to give the best deals. Pricing around about $1900 U.S. but you have to go without a warranty valid in the U.S. and there is the risk of dealing at a distance. There is some more on this in earlier threads.

Where'd my Bessa go?
Jim, you sure about that Hong Kong price? The last time I checked (about a month ago), several places quoted about $2400, that's still a pretty good savings over US prices.

Does anyone have contact information for shops in Hong Kong that carry the Epson and will ship to the US?

Try www.hksupplies.com
Or http://tincheungcamera.com.hk/
You have to be a little careful dealing with Tin Cheung. They tend to overcharge for shipping and have been known to pass off mint used products as new ones. Their prices are quite competitive.

Try Dr. Joseph Yao in HK, joseph at yao com

Joseph Yao is a little wary with the R-D1 and I believe he's indicated he isn't too keen in dealing in them due to the problems he's had with them in the past.

A friend paid 970 GBP in February that = $1850 at todays rate.Terence T said:Jim, you sure about that Hong Kong price? The last time I checked (about a month ago), several places quoted about $2400, that's still a pretty good savings over US prices.
Here is the link to my original thread on Hong Kong pricing:

I haven't rechecked prices myself as I can't afford a second R-D1 even at these prices even though I would like one. I have a link to Hong Kong dealers in this thread but be wary that some have a bad reputation. The dealer my friend dealt with seems to have been O.K. and he hasn't had any problems with his R-D1.

Hello, List. Map Camera in Tokyo now sell twenty bodies for 260000 JPY including 5% tax (2400 USD or 1900 EUR). I am not sure if they sell overseas.
